This lesson includes a set of notes summarized in the image below, and a homework assignment at the end of the notes (to find and measure simple machines at home). I introduced the lesson with a set of stations where students measured input and output distances for all six machines. (Note: Gears use concepts of torque and angle in place of force and distance, and require a more sophisticated understanding to find MA.)
